Davido is a Nigerian-American singer, songwriter, and record producer. Born David Adedeji Adeleke in Atlanta, Georgia in 1992, he was raised in Lagos, Nigeria. Davido began his music career in 2011, releasing his debut single “Back When” featuring Nigerian rapper Naeto C. He gained widespread popularity in Nigeria with his 2012 hit single “Dami Duro,” which was followed by his debut album “Omo Baba Olowo” in 2012.
Since then, Davido has become one of the biggest names in African music, known for his infectious Afrobeats sound and collaborations with other popular artists. He has won numerous awards, including multiple BET Awards, MTV Africa Music Awards, and Nigerian Entertainment Awards. Davido has also made a name for himself as a record producer, founding his own music label, Davido Music Worldwide (DMW).
